Our work speaks for itself.Memoria is a sculpture that visualizes and spatializes memories in collaboration with Marcos Cruz. Scott Nichols generated the initial proportion and schematic concept for this plasma cut and laser-etched aluminum wall installation.
Through the use of a custom-built light rig that tracks the motion of the hands through space, each sign is transformed into luminous traces—ephemeral glyphs and sculptural forms that reveal the depth, rhythm, and complexity of communication beyond spoken word. What is typically unseen becomes tangible, inviting viewers to reconsider assumptions about language, ability, and perception.
By illuminating these hidden forms, Hidden Fidelity reframes ASL not only as a means of communication, but as a dynamic and visually rich system—one that embodies structure, and a profound aesthetic presence.
